Centaur Housing Association (CHA), a Not-for-Profit Community Benefit Society, registered with the Financial Services Authority and Mutuals Register, Registration Number 286658R, which has been around since December 1997, some 25 years . CHA provides Intensive Housing Management services to vulnerable adults as their landlord or arranges on CHA’s behalf for these services to be provided across England and Wales.
CHA currently provides specialist supported housing services to over 300 tenants across 15 different Local Authorities, in a range of accommodation types – from single homes, apartments to shared houses, through to step-down and transitional services.
The client groups that CHA supports include:
- Autism and Asperger’s syndrome
- Complex behavioural needs
- Drug and alcohol dependency
- Elderly care and dementia
- Learning Disabilities
- Mental Health problems
- Forensic backgrounds
- Physical disabilities
- Or a combination of the above.
In order to provide an integrated services to our tenants, CHA works collaboratively with a number of care providers – ranging from large, national providers to smaller, regional operators.
CHA has bespoke Service Level Agreements in place with each operator and we work with our tenants on an individual basis, to provide them with a bespoke service that meets that housing support needs.
Good quality supported housing allows individuals to live more independently and has been proven to derive significant savings to the public finances by delivering a programme of prevention, rather than intervention. The Senior Management Team at CHA are all from care and property backgrounds, with the CEO holding a Psychology BSc Hons, which provides a unique person centred perspective when working with multi-disciplinary partners.
